Register to Vote
The Ulster County Board of Elections office is located at 284 Wall Street in Kingston, NY. They can be reached by phone at (845) 334-5470. Should you have any questions regarding voter registration or merely wish to obtain a New York State Voter Registration Form, you can stop by their offices or give them a call. Registration forms can also be obtained at most post offices and libraries, as well as your town clerk's office. For your convenience we've provided a web friendly voter registration form that you may print and mail to your Board of Elections.
To register to vote in New York State you must:
- Be a U.S. citizen
- Be 18 years old by December 31 of the year in which you file this form (note: you must be 18 years old by the date of the general, primary or other election in which you want to vote)
- Live at your present address at least 30 days before an election
- Not be in jail or on parole for a felony conviction
- Not claim the right to vote elsewhere
